SDW 2012 Call for Proposals

Security Document World (SDW) 2012 is delighted to open our call for speakers for the next event,  to be held at the QEII Conference Centre, London, UK, 21-23 May 2012.

The show attracts in excess of 350 international conference delegates, with a vibrant mix of government and industry participants, and more than 1200 visitors to the exhibition.

Proposals should be submitted by 30th November, 2011, to Conference Chairman, Mark Lockie, at: speak@sciencemediapartners.com

About the Event
The three-day conference and two-day exhibition is organised by the editors of the Security Document World web portal, in conjunction with a panel of industry experts.

The themes of the 2012 event will include:

  • Travel documents… Unplugged!
  • Promise fulfilled? eIDs in focus
  • Document crime and detection
  • Tomorrow’s intelligent border
  • Document design and technology
  • Spotlight: inter-governmental and agency initiatives
  • Identity – from cradle to grave…
  • Examining the wide document spectrum
  • Meet the Document Examiner – DocEx 2012

The conference will consider where advanced documents are heading in the future; it will look at the effectiveness of these documents to prevent crime, increase mobility and enhance citizen services; it will report on possible weaknesses and risks in the life cycle of documents and the architecture within which they are used. Issues such as data protection, sharing and privacy will be discussed; as will the different business cases for eIDs and the latest in advanced border control techniques.

How to Apply
Potential speakers are invited to submit an abstract for consideration, particularly those at executive level, those at the forefront of research and development, market analysts and end users/governments that have (or are currently implementing) a cutting-edge case history.

Please note that although we strongly encourage submissions from the international community, contributions must be submitted in English, and if accepted, speakers must have a good command of the English language.

Successful contributions will be evaluated on the basis of relevance, content, originality and expertise/experience of the speaker. New case histories, especially when presented by end-users (or jointly with the prime security printer/integrator), will be favoured, as will speeches from top-level company or organisational representatives. N.B. This should not dissuade submissions by those with specialist technical knowledge, or those leading research efforts.

Submissions must provide the following information:

  • Speaker's name
  • Speaker's position
  • Speaker's company/organisation
  • Speaker's short biography - approx. 200 words
  • Speaker's photo
  • Speaker's full contact details (address, email, telephone)
  • Proposed title of the presentation
  • Indication of which stream you would like to present within
  • Summary of the presentation (max 200 words).

Acknowledgement will be provided on receipt.
